Fort Bliss Initiatives
Your Business Development Division established two track efforts in 2005.
Family Track:
- Four main efforts put forward in the family track
1. Welcome Kits – As of the second quarter of 2008 we have provided 9,978 kits to newly arrived soldiers.
2. Information Fairs – We host information fairs on the El Paso region to soldiers and family members.
3. “Adopt Soldiers and their Families” receptions – We are coordinating this effort through the FT Bliss Post Center Champlain’s office
4. Coupon Books – 8,500 books were distributed and 120 chamber members participated.
Business Track:
- The business track must be viewed from both the government procurement side and non-government procurement such as retail sales, restaurants, etc.
- The Chamber has developed a series of information outreaches that informs business of potential opportunities with the new arrival of troops
- Data base partnership – identifying expertise and specialized skills available through local providers.
We also have presence at Fort Bliss Welcome Center:
- Day 1 Briefing – Welcome new soldiers to the community and provide businesses with the necessary support and information to capture business opportunities from the post.
- Welcome Center- Information booth that is available to members only that are providing military discounts. Education, employment and visitors information is available.
