Richard E. Dayoub began his chamber career in 2003, when he joined the Greater El Paso Chamber as its president and CEO. Previously, Dayoub had a successful career as the owner, president, and CEO of a large regional travel company for nearly thirty years.
As a volunteer with the Greater El Paso Chamber, Dayoub served in numerous capacities including chairman of several operating divisions and, ultimately, as chairman of the board. He was selected to be president of the chamber in 2004 and promoted to CEO in 2007.
As a professional chamber leader, Dayoub will complete his coursework at Institute for Organization Management this January to receive his IOM designation and is also working toward his CCE certification. He serves on the Metro 8, an advocacy group made up of the CEOs of the eight largest metropolitan communities in Texas. He is actively engaged in a number of civic and charitable organizations and is the only business person to participate as a board member of the University of Texas at El Paso's Collaborative for Academic Excellence.
Dayoub was selected as a Ford Foundation Fellow, participating in an 18-month study with the American Chambers of Commerce Executives regarding regionalism and sustainable development.
Dayoub and his wife, Veronica, have four children: Emily, Sam, Damon, and Danielle.
