El Paso Chamber Awarded Stevie® Award

The El Paso Chamber was awarded a Bronze Stevie® Award in the Customer Service Training/Coaching Program of the Year – Business Services Industries category in the 15th annual Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service. The award was given to the Chamber for their work transitioning the Leadership El Paso Program (LEP) to a virtual format during COVID-19.

At the start of the pandemic, the Chamber elected to convert LEP to a virtual experience rather than cancelling or delaying the program. LEP is the El Paso region’s premiere leadership training program and connects participants to key stakeholders and programs in the community in order to train a new generation to create effective change. With COVID-19, the Chamber felt there was no better time to see leadership in action.

“We are honored to have received this award, especially in a year with so many challenges,” said El Paso Chamber President & CEO David Jerome. “Leadership El Paso is one of the Chamber’s flagship programs, and while this year looked different from years past, we were excited to explore how a virtual format could enable us to do new things, like bringing in guests that otherwise wouldn’t have been able to participate. I especially want to recognize the hard work of Dr. Richard Pineda, who worked with us to develop the curriculum, and Nora Rose, who from our team brought the sessions to life. We are proud of what we were able to accomplish and of what the class was able to accomplish with their class project. A big congratulations to all involved!”

The Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service are the world’s top honors for customer service, contact center, business development and sales professionals. The Stevie Awards organizes eight of the world’s leading business awards programs, also including the prestigious American Business Awards® and International Business Awards®.

More than 2,300 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry, in 51 nations, were considered in this year’s competition. Winners were determined by the average scores of more than 160 professionals worldwide on nine specialized judging committees.

“A very nice success story of an organization that has successfully pivoted to success during the challenges of the pandemic,” wrote the Stevie® award judging panel. “Very impressive fundraising for organizations in need.”
