While the essay points to several stress points and offers a pessimistic view of where the economy is at in regard to healthcare, the Chamber sees some of the information as a battle plan for action.

Healthcare in El Paso in by and large a private enterprise, with the notable exceptions of the University Medical Center, El Paso Children’s, and the municipal health authority. The Chamber recognizes that each of the corporate entities involved in healthcare have their own teams that focus on policy analysis. That said, the Chamber will continue to connect and advocate on behalf of all healthcare providers and will pay close attention to trends, such as the pandemic, that have potentially significant impact on the economy.
